Etching

A "portrait etching" distinguishes itself from a photographic process as it embodies the essence of artistic creation. Our skilled artist meticulously crafts each piece by hand, resulting in a true "likeness" of the individuals depicted.

Quality

To achieve exceptional etching quality, we require high-resolution or sharply detailed closeup photos. Regrettably, images that are blurry, pixelated, or lack focus cannot be etched or replicated. Additionally, we currently cannot merge two or more photos into a single etching.

The Process

Our artist transforms your photograph into a granite-etched portrait with the utmost technical and artistic precision. The final etching closely mirrors the original photo. Given that this process involves physically altering the granite's surface, modifications after completion are nearly impossible.

Granite Selection

Etchings exhibit their best appearance on all marker types, with jet-black granite being the preferred choice. It offers the ideal contrast for the image being crafted. The use of any other type of granite may compromise the quality of the final result. In situations where jet-black granite is unavailable an alternative option is to incorporate an etching the insert into the stone. This insert consists of an etched image on a piece of jet-black granite seamlessly integrated into the stone, akin to a ceramic photo.
